Episode #210 Happy Memories with Thad & Scott

Recorded on 1/21/25, Thad and Scott take the mic for another entertaining episode of Adjust the Mic!

We kick things off with a discussion about the wild weather in Florida, including snow in North Florida and icy roads shutting down parts of South Georgia. Scott dives into the challenges faced by semi-truck drivers navigating dangerous conditions in Wyoming, Washington, Nebraska, and other treacherous spots.

Nostalgia takes center stage as we reminisce about childhood experiences, including deep connections to Playalinda Beach. Scott shares heartfelt stories about how this special place has been a family tradition, while Thad recalls surfing and hanging out with friends there, creating unforgettable memories. Much love being able to experience all the dirt roads and nature trails around Mosquito Lagoon!

We take a trip down memory lane with Saturday morning cartoons like DuckTales, Gumby, and G.I. Joe, plus the joy of family trips to Blockbuster. (Thad cheekily remembers the “mysteries” behind the curtain display) Scott shares heartwarming stories about growing up in Kentucky, including sledding in Louisville and the family’s lovable Saint Bernard, Moses.

Episode #201 Experiences & Encounters of the Local Kind

Next, we talk about the risks and thrills of exploring Florida’s underwater cave systems. At Vibe Farmer Studio, Scott and Thad had a wild boar encounter during a nature walk.

Scott also breaks down the NBA offseason, including the Orlando Magic’s options. A big trade of Alex Caruso for Josh Giddey happened between the Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder. Thad shares a cool beach treasure find from the 90s. We end with concerns about possible closures of Playalinda Beach and the importance of supporting public access.
